WEST CORК

History & Vision

The most southerly  located distillery on the  Atlantic Archipelago

West Cork Distillers was formed in 2003 by childhood friends, John O’Connell, Denis  McCarthy and Ger McCarthy.

Built on instinct, the friends adopted an  innate inclination to challenge the status  quo and do things differently. Leveraging  an entrepreneurial mindset and passion  for both the science and art of spirit  distillation, they have been recognised for their innovative approach and credited with  maturing, distiling and bottling some

of the finest craft Irish whiskey on the  market today.

The distillery, based in West Cork, Ireland,  will soon produce up to 4.5 million litres of  alcohol, making it the largest, privately-held Irish owned distillery in the country. Their core  and private label range of whiskeys are now  available in almost 70 countries worldwide. As the demand for Irish whiskey continues  to grow, West Cork Distillers will continue to  compete on a global scale while maintaining  their independence and staying true to their  West Cork heritage.

Our Distillery

West Cork has a proud history in artisan  food and beverage production and at  West Cork Distillers, we are committed to  upholding this fine reputation. We source  the finest of ingredients locally where possible and rely on many local suppliers to  deliver our product worldwide. We use only Irish spring water in the  production of our whiskey, green malt our  own barley and use only grains indigenous  to Ireland. We also only use pot stills in the  production of our whiskeys. As a growing company, we are committed  to providing sustainable employment to this  unspoiled part of the world we call home.
